Committee on Academic Affairs
The committee for Academic Affairs is responsible for all legislation relating to academic policy at Brooklyn College. In addition to working on legislation in the Assembly, members of this committee work with the CLAS president to work on administrative issues surrounding academic policy.
Committee on Budget and Finance
The committee for Budget and Finance is responsible for overseeing managing the Assembly's budget, as well all legislation pertaining to fiscal policy at Brooklyn College. In addition to preparing and presenting the CLAS budget, the committee is also responsible for distributing grants to student organizations, and making sure they have enough money to sustain a vibrant campus community.
Committee on Governmental Operations
The Committee on Governmental Operations is responsible for all legislation regarding the rules of student government, including the Constitution and Rules of Assembly. This committee is also responsible for appointing the election commission, and other policies that affect student government elections.
Committee on Media, Outreach, and Engagement
The committee for Media, Outreach and Engagement is responsible for informing the student body about the activity of the Assembly, and to serve as a face for CLAS as a whole. The committee works with the Speaker and the Executive Branch to put together a cohesive plan for CLAS outreach.
Committee on Student Affairs
The Student Affairs committee strives to adhere to all the needs of the student body. They make sure that events are planned and coordinated to stimulate interest within Brooklyn College. Their focus is heavily on the progression of events and activities within Brooklyn College as well as working with staff and faculty to promote and cater to the students. This committee works alongside other committees in an effort to reach every individual, and enrich their Brooklyn College experience.
